Zeva Feature on Building Review Journal

Misc - Tuesday, 19 April 2016

The up-and-coming Sri Kembangan district in Selangor, Malaysia is home to a spark of brightness in the form of Zeva, which is also the Hebrew word for “brilliance”. The newest mixed-use development by Trinity Group, Zeva is set across 3.71 acres of leasehold land and is made up from 320 units of studio apartments, 446 units of serviced apartments and 12 retail outlets.

WHERE NATURE AND SOPHISTICATION MEET

Zeva was designed with an innovative spatial design and adopts a vertical city concept with large open spaces, a garden terrace design within the structure itself and a landscaped boulevard with extensive water features. Two-thirds of the development is dedicated to such open spaces, creating a courtyard and communal space for residents.

Zeva’s strategic and prominent location at a main crossjunction in Sri Kembangan serves as a link to the external community. Residential components are strategically located towards the back of the site to allow more public spaces. The development’s RM2.4 million landscape was designed to create a unique space that extends from the living room into the greenery outdoors, essentially creating the concept of a “green” living room and melding nature into urban living.

About 63 percent of Zeva is dedicated to open, green spaces and recreational facilities, and the development also consists of eco-friendly elements such as natural ventilation for both the foliage and for residents and a green wall of creeping plants. The highlight of Zeva however, is its Sky Deck on Level 28. The all-glass façade sits right at the top of the high-rise building, providing residents with an elegant space to wine, dine and enjoy the view.

As such, the building footprint makes up only 33 percent of the development; the rest is dedicated to car parks, green buffers, swimming pool, children’s playground, a recreational area, sky garden, trees and landscaping. The open 60-feet boulevard, at 0.871 acres, is one of the largest in the area, making the open spaces of the development a total of 2.5 acres.

All of the apartments also come with a North-South orientation to minimise excessive exposure to sunlight. Residential blocks are placed far away from the main roads to avoid noise and air pollution and there’s plenty of cross ventilation within the development.

Other amenities include a 50-metre Olympic-length infinity pool, children’s pool, kindergarten, gym, sunbathing deck, playground, cafes, laundry room and multi-purpose hall. Top-tier security features are also incorporated into Zeva, such as CCTV surveillance in public area such as corridors and lobbies, access cards with level-specific access and a security patrol around the property.

A STRATEGIC LOCATION

The development sits right in the middle of a host of amenities, such as the Aeon Taman Equine Shopping Centre, Giant Hypermarket Sri Kembangan, Alice Smith International School and Kuala Lumpur city centre.

It is also easily accessible via major highways and links including the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP), South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE), Besraya Expressway, Maju Expressway (MEX), North-South Highway, and the proposed Serdang-Kinrara-Putrajaya Expressway (SKIP). Those who commute via public transport will find it convenient to connect to nearby train lines such as the Ampang LRT (Puchong) and MRT 2 (Taman Serdang). Trinity Group are also planning to install bus stops within the development for added convenience.
